How To Get Unstuck In Your BusinessĀ

From time to time it’s normal to hit roadblocks in your business. One day everything seems to be moving along nicely and the next…

Well, you feel completely stuck.

Leads have dried up, sales have plateaued and it feels like no matter what you do, you just can’t get unstuck and move forward.

The longer this goes on, the more of a rut you find yourself in.

In this blog post I’m going to share with you 3 ways you can get unstuck in your business so you can reach your goals faster (before the ‘I should quit’ self talk kicks in)

But first, let’s look at what it actually means to be ‘stuck’ in business.

Because we hear these words a lot but what exactly is it referring to and why is this such a common reality for so many entrepreneurs?

What’s Happening When You Feel Stuck

I want you to know first and foremost that you are not alone.

Feeling stuck, at multiple times, in business is completely normal and common! Particularly for female entrepreneurs.

See, when you feel stuck, one of two things is happening…

The first option is that you have grown.

What once was your goal is now your reality and so when you reach it, you think to yourself “well now what?”

With that said, being stuck can be a really positive thing…

So long as you can move on from it swiftly and not get stuck there or worse, let it get to you so much that you give up.

When you’re feeling stuck, remember this…

All that’s happening is that you have grown, reached your goal and now you need to look to what’s coming next.

Alternatively…

You could be feeling stuck because you have set a goal that no matter what you try, you just can’t seen to reach.

This is another common situation you may find yourself in.

The 3 tips I am going to share with you now will help you to move forward regardless of which reason has led you to feeling stuck in the first place.

So let’s look at these tips now.

#1 STOP & REFLECT

The first thing you need to do is to STOP. Take a break, give yourself the day or morning off and in this time you’re going to reflect on the past 3 months in your business. Consider the following:

  • What has worked well for you in the past 3 months?
  • What specific things helped move you closer to your goal
  • What didn’t help?
  • List the tasks you spent a lot of time on that reaped little or no reward and stop doing these tasks
  • What did you say you were going to do but didn’t? Would this have made a difference to where you are now?

#2 SET A CLEAR VISION

The next step is to look ahead and set a really clear vision of where you want to go in the next 3 months.

I find so often that when I talk to someone who is stuck in their business and I ask them about their goals they have no idea how to answer.

So I want you to ask yourself this…

If in three months from now you woke up and your business was EXACTLY the way you want it to be, what would it look like...

And be specific about this (I mean super specific). For example, I will be posting XYZ type of content, X often on social media. I will have XYZ new clients signed up to my program. I will have XYZ dollars in the bank. My workday would look like…

Now it’s your turn. Get really clear on what your business looks like in 3 months from now.

#3 MAKE A PLAN

Now that you have identified everything that has and hasn’t worked for your business in the past 3 months, AND you have a clear vision of where you want to get to in the next 3 months…

The final step is to make a plan and then action the plan!

Match up the things that did work in the past for you, with the new vision you have set for your business and translate this into clear, actionable steps that can guide you through the next quarter in business with confidence and clarity.

Here’s an example to get you off on the right track…

Let’s say in the past 3 months, using the DM’s on Instagram worked really well for generating leads. You vision for the next 3 months includes signing 5 new clients to your program…

Here’s an example of the actionable steps you will write down to guide you:

  1. Craft a new offer for my program. Something exciting, fresh, irresistible and that talks directly to my target clients biggest wants.
  2. Pick a word from this offer to use in your call to actions on social media
  3. For 2 weeks, add this call to action to every single post on social media AND in stories using the chat box
  4. Have sales conversations in the DM’s with those who enter the word and invite them onto a free call
  5. Convert 5 new clients into program in the first month
  6. At the end of the two weeks, assess the outcome and determine next steps

Don’t worry if you don’t know all of these steps or how to action what you want to achieve for the quarter ahead.
